What to say about the Bled that hasn't been said to death: picturesque, romantic, cute island in the middle, over-crowded, Bohinj has more to offer, nothing to do in the town itself, blah, blah, blah. Yeah, all those things are true. Still, it's hard to beat a walk around the lake, especially around sundown. Cliche as it is, a unquestionable highlight and a must see. |
| | Frozen landscape The first time I came here was in January 2000. It looked like something I imagined Europe to look like when I was a child ( though it was cold as hell! ) The lake was frozen over but I told that the ice was not thick enough in most places to walk across to the island. Still, there were some folks ice skating. |
