"Nuerburg - One of the Birthplaces of Motor Racing" Nürburg by MikeAtSea

Nürburg Travel Guide: 18 reviews and 35 photos

Adjacent to the Nuerburg Castle is the Nuerburg Town which is believed to have been started in the 12th century.
The town is situated in the Eifel Region. Importance to the region was formed in 1925 when the world famous German race course the Nuerburg Ring was started. This happened just over twenty years after racing became part of life in Bexhill-on-Sea, the start of British Motor Racing.
Today dozens of events are held here every year from truck racing to the Formula One Grand Prix of Europe and even Rock Concerts.
The town lies on an altitude of 670 metres and besides all the hustle of the great race course next door offers plenty of mountain biking, trekking and walks in summer and some limited winter sports in winter.
