Cultures of Africa

There are more then 2000 languages spoken on the African continent within the 52 countries and few dependency that are existing. Most African languages belong to one of four language families: Afro-Asiatic, Nilo-Saharan, Niger-Congo, and Khoisan.It is a cultural melting pot that has been further enhanced by the former colonial powers that have left their mark to most of the countries. Hence French, Portuguese, English and German are widely spoken across the continent.
Cultures and traditions sometimes are similar however vary widely from area to area. This is one of the exciting aspects in visiting this continent, since these cultures and traditions are still part of the day to day life.
