tand atop Cabo Girão, one of the highest seaside cliffs in the world, for a magnificent view. Equally impressive are the gardens and panoramas of venerable Reid’s Hotel, a favourite of Sir Winston Churchill and countless other notables.
The city and the island are one of the most beautiful ones I have ever been to. One can easily find ones way around, and almost the entire old town is a pedestrian zone.
And it is the flower island - due to its mild climate, tropical plants from all over the world bloom here and at every corner one can see another flower or garden.
