The beach at Timmendorf - Timmendorfer Strand

A priest of all people was responsible that the bathing pleasure started with him building a house on Timmendorf Beach in 1865. Even today you find in the houlse of priest Friedrich August Gleiß' a fine restaurant with the name Dobler. Niendorf a village part of Timmendorf Beach started 151 years ago to develop as a beach resort. Here one could find 1855 the first beach stands and in 1877 over a hundred houses and hotels were recorded.
Beach vacation has tradition here, and Timmendorf Beach and Niendorf offer this to pleasure and sun seekers. Long sandy beaches, lot of green country side, vacation with lots of entertainment with plenty of areas to relax and recharge. And this one can do year-round.

When one thinks of the Baltic Sea, its beaches aren't the first to come to mind particularly to those used to beaches along the warmer water. Nice and surprising commentary.
