Drøbak Travel Guide: 9 reviews and 19 photos

Drøbak is a small town on the Oslo fjord, approximately 40km south of Oslo. The population of Drøbak almost doubles in the summer holiday season when the Oslo folk visit for a taste of something more rustic. Most of the town centre consists of old wooden houses, and along the fjord-side a number of the old ‘captain houses’ remain. The town itself is now a protected area: any building work must be approved by the town council’s Antiquarian Committee.
Drøbak has one of Norways most famous military fortresses on a small island in the fjord. You may visit it, as it is part museum now. At night the fortress is fully lit.
