Cango Caves and other Oudtshoorn, South Africa Things to Do Tips

The Cango Caves are situated 30 km north of Oudtshoorn right in the middle of the Swartberg Mountains. Three tours are on offer, one that explores even the tiniest caves including the letter box (imagine yourself what this may be). The caves are an amazing cave system, considering that you are in one of the driest regions of South Africa. Check before leaving Oudtshoorn when the tours are scheduled since they vary from month to month.

This is one of the Cheetah Breeding Centres of South Africa. Besides having the chance of climbing into the cage with a cheetah and supporting cheetah conservation in Southern Africa you can also see a lot of other African game and crocodiles here.
The Wildlife Ranch is open daily. Entrance to the cheetah cages is separately.

There are three Ostrich Show Farms in Oudtshoorn that allow visitors to see the breading process and other aspects of ostrich farming. The farms are: Safari Ostrich Farm (on the Mossel Bay Road), Highgate Ostrich Farm (Around 10 km outside town towards Mossel Bay) and the Cango Ostrich Farm (North of the city towards the Cango Caves). All farms are sign posted and offer multi-language tours of their facilities. If you travel with a large group make sure you book in advance!
