An Old Cathedral City

Today Lescar is a suburban area of Pau with a pop. 6K. Once it was the center of the Bearn area and its church which was started in 1120 was a cathedral. The members of the Albret family were buried in this church. The most interesting aspect of the church is the floor of the choir which is in part covered with mosaics depicting hunters and wild animals, which were placed there in the 12C.
