First Trip Into The Camargue

On our first trip into the Camargue we drove out from Arles and visited St. Gilles and then went out to Saintes-Maires-de-la-Mer and finally stopped at Aigue-Mort. Our second visit we we were part of a group which was taken for an afternoon and evening at the Domaine de Mejanes, one of the few remaining "ranches". Here we were treated to some typical ranch sports including a calf branding and steer wrestling. More interesting was watching local teenagers who were practicing to be fighting the bull-fighting technics of the course libre or a la cocarde.
