Iceland: the land of Ice. This is what people think about this country. I choice this journey because I see on Tv a documentary about this wonderful country. I fall in love always with its fantastic landscape with water, fire and ice. So I depart to Reykjavik.

I know that probably I saw only a small part of this wonderful country, infact I didn't see the Isafjordur region and so I was very sad.
By the way i hope to come back one day and to see it.

A land of Fire, water and ice! - Iceland

Iceland is situated in North Atlantic on Middle Atlantic ridge so you can be on American teutonic zone or in Eurpean teotonic zone. You can see this morphologic characteristic in Pingvallir very well. During summer there are 21 hour of light and in July is possible to see the Midnight Sun in Akureyri. The temperature in summer is about 20-22 °C but sometime it is more cold if cloudy or more hot if there is no wind. In winter the temperature is about 1°C thanks to Gulf Stream and everything is cover by snow. The best way to travel around Iceland is to rent a car (or a bike if you like!!!). There isn't problem to sleep: there are a lot of accomodetions (Hostel, Bed and breakfast or Farm Holiday). If you have any trouble during your journey ask to the clerk of the information desk that you find in all city. The Icelandic population is about 300000 people so between two city sometime there are more than 100 Km.
The Iceland wild life is very proud: you can see wonderful birds, whales (in Husavik and Reykjavik) and seals (Hindisvik). There are a lot of vulcanos (Hekkla, Krafla), waterfall (Gulfoss, Dettifoss, Hangifoss...) and a big glacier: Vatnajokull.

The Husavikurkirkja, Akureyrarkirkja, and the Pingeyrar are stunning. The Basaltic formations are fascinating! Excellent job Cristian, its nice to see it thru your adventure.

Yeah,the area is beautiful, but I'll bet you can't say the name of the city three times really fast.
