Maastricht is a wonderful town just few kilometers from the German and Belgian border. It became famous in 1991 with the sign of the treaty that carries its name.
To town is the heartquarter of many European institutions. The medieval heart of the town is the wonderful Sint Servaas basiliek. From here you can make a walk along the fantastic streets with interesting examples of houses along the sides. Very interesting are also the the medieval walls and the Helpoort.
