Here you can find numerous palaces and streets dating from the 14th century, when it hosted the court of the house of Este. In this time Ferrara became one of the most important cultural centres of Italy.
Ferrara is famous for the Castello Estense, in which you can see wonderfull paintings roofs.
One of the finest Reinaissance palaces you can see in the town is Palazzo dei Diamanti so named for the diamond points into which the facade's stone blocks are cut.
Very nice is also the Cathedral, built in a Romanesque style with a very interesting interior.
From 1995 the town is inscripted in UNESCO World Heritage list.
Enjoy your visit!!!
- In a nutshell:A wonderful town and great food!!!

great details, is this not the source of some famed Italian confectionary ? ;-)))
Looks like an interesting place to visit, especially Castello Estense. Great idea to rent a bicycle and ride all around the Renaissance walls!
your pages are very interesting and I hope I can eventually... work through them all, great info and tips, thanx very much.
Wow!
Short and to the point tips with good photos! :)
Interesting place.
