... don't forget to switch off your mobile phone !! Some restaurants are more strict than others, like this one, for instance, situated in the "rue de la Butte aux Cailles", on the door of which it is explicitly written : "Please, switch off your phones, f*ck !!!"

    %fh %s4 %cb TAISSEI %c* %s* %f*: XIVth - The best cheapest Japanese restaurant !
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: TAISSEI

I'm pretty sure that you won't find such a cheap restaurant so easily... TAISSEI proposes cheap menus (from 5,80 to 11 Euros), cheap wine, cheap desserts... but, more surprisingly, all the meals are tasty !!!

Favorite Dish: I strongly recommend the Menus I and H... : melting sushis, and brochettes of meat or cheese !!

%cb %fh La Gare: XVIth - Posh, expensive but such a gorgeous place
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]

  • Restaurant Name: La Gare

Let's be honest : I've never eaten in this place, until now. All I've done once was having a small beer at the bar. When I came back there, dressed like the usual tourist (flip-flops included), I was a bit scared by the way the guys working in this posh scene looked at me (especially, the "Maitre d'Hotel", who can't help himself from thinking that he owns Power because he gets you to the seat where you're gonna be fed... Jeez, I've always thought that this power was deserved to parents of young age kids !!)... Even though I dislike the way posh people act when it's about food, I have to admit that this place, formerly a RER station, is designed. The restaurant is huge, like a train station, and the terraces are awesome. The lounge is like the usual posh lounges (you can't see what's happening at a close range from your table)...

Favorite Dish: I know that they serve french food, but I suspect them of including pastas and french fries. The fish is more expensive than the rest. The small menu (entree and main dish) is around 38 Euros, while the complete menu (with dessert) costs around 45 Euros.

It could be anyone's backyard, but, as for many fancy restaurants, it has been decided that this backyard was to be their backyard with you inside !! The bistro des Dames is worth the stay, even if the prices are high, 'cause it gives a good opportunity to eat outside, without being on the pavement and breathing the typical pollution coming from the traffic... Even if there's no shining sun, the inner room is also very welcoming...

Favorite Dish: The food is good and the salads are very large... If you're fond of desserts, you will be higly satisfied by the ones proposed here...

    %cb %fi Le refuge des fondus %c* %f*: XVIIIth - Time to eat a fondue !!!
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: Le refuge des fondus

A small restaurant, with only two parallel banks to sit, but a single cheap and good menu, including a cocktail, a starter, a fondue (a meat or a cheese one), red or white wine in a biberon (!!) and a dessert. It's often overcrowded, so you better come early or book in advance... And all that for only 15 Euros !!!!

A very good plan for winter time !!!

Favorite Dish: The fondue I love is the cheesy one, the one that makes you laugh (it's soooo good !) and cry (it's soooo good !) at the same time !

I stayed at the Dartangnan and it really isn't that bad. Some of my group were missing things after the maids went through cleaning though.
