I had the wonderful opportunity to spend December 21st through December 26th, the Christmas holiday, in Mexico with Manuel, a high school friend, and his family. I stayed with Manuel's cousins in Mexico City for a few days and then we stayed with his family and grandparents in Apaseo, near Celaya just northwest of Mexico City.
On December 26th I took a train to Villahermosa to meet up with Patton and together we explored the ancient ruins and pyramids in the Yucatan and northern Guatamala.
