It is very easy to get around by either taxi or rickshaw. If a meter is not being used, you must agree to a price before the ride. Try to have an idea of where you are going or how long it should take to get there so you don't get taken for a "ride", which never happened to us.

You may also hire a taxi to drive you around sightseeing for the day. If you hire from your hotel, it will be more expensive - and they usually charge by 4 hrs, 8 hrs, etc. with a specific amount of kilometers allowed. Anything over will be charged extra. If you hire a taxi from the street, make sure to agree on the price but do not pay it until you are done sightseeing for the day. I've always thought that a bonus with taxi drivers is that they know good places to eat cheaply. :-))
