Lotus Bay View: There are better choices...

There were a couple positives to this place and I tried really hard to like it, but given that there are so many other choices of accommodations in Pondicherry, it just fell short. "Bay view" is a little misleading. It is actually just off Beach Road and there are no bay view rooms.

The hotel and room were extremely clean. The room itself was a little small and the only window was a very small side window overlooking some pipes. There was no fan but there is an AC.

The hotel advertised internet (an important criteria for us for work) but there was actually only a connection in the lobby. There was no restaurant on the premises, although there were several within walking distance. They did provide a South Indian breakfast (photo #2) that was passable.

The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. The front desk provided incorrect travel/Pondicherry information - they didn't seem to know very much. The hotel was also very noisy - whether it was from people talking via internet in the lobby (loudly!) to people in the hallways and other rooms.

My test is always - would I stay there again? I would not nor would I recommend it to anyone else.
