The Rijksmuseum is a Dutch national museum in Amsterdam which is dedicated to arts, crafts, and history.
It has a large collection of paintings from the Dutch Golden Age and a substantial collection of Asian art.
such as Jacob van Ruysdael, Frans Hals, Johannes Vermeer and Rembrandt and also Rembrandt's pupils.
The paintings in the collection by Rembrandt van Rijn include:

Amsterdam is world famous for its many canals (grachten) which have led it to being called the "Venice of the North".
There are many tour operators that have sightseeing cruises along these canals taking in attractions such as the well preserved 17th century merchant homes and also the famous red-light district.
