    • The Art Gallery of Western Australia is WA's centre for the arts, craft and culture.

    The most recent exhibition, which ended on the 28th October 2007, was the Egyptian Antiquities which came all the way over here from the Louvre in Paris.

    Some of the 500 items on display were a carved stone sarcophagus, painted mummy cases, a papyrus scroll from the "Book of the Dead" and even a mummified cat.

    The only thing that disappointed me a little was that there was next to nothing to show about the daily lives of ordinary Egyptians. Just basic things like how they lived, what they ate and what with and what they to relax after a hard day building pyramids.

    Entry to the Art Gallery of Western Australia is free but a fee may be payable for admission to some major exhibitions such as the Eqyptian antiquities from the Louvre.

    Closed Good Friday & Christmas Day

    Open Anzac Day 1.00 - 5.00pm

     Yes, Robert, I did leave my heart in Sydney. It's a beautiful place. There is so much of Australia I want to explore, escpecially on the train from Sydney to Perth.
