Paris probably has many names but I think the most famous is "The City of Lights". Apparently this name is both for its fame as an enlightened centre of education and ideas and also for its early adoption of street lighting in Europe.
Paris is famous for many interesting buildings, landmark an monuments not the least of which is the Eiffel Tower.

Thanks for the great photos on this whirlwind tour of Paris - you really got around! The city looks almost deserted in November. Strange they would have a statue of the Sphinx in the Louvre after Napoleon's troops tried to blast it's face off in Cairo!
Moulin Rouge red light district in 18th arrondissement? And the Sacré Choeur is also there? ? ? :-) Nice Paris view from Down Under perspective Robert; if we meet here one day, I'll be happy to show you from an "insider" perspective.
I'm thinking of going to Paris for a weekend in winter, so I'm reading all about Paris now.I know your pages always give good information.
Hi Robert, Thanks for your tips, will help when we visit Paris this May.

Beautiful Paris! Do you know that you can go ice-skating on the Eiffel Tower in winter now?
