Snow tubing
At Snow City you can go learn to ski, go snow boarding or snow tubing down an artificial snow covered slope.
The inside temperature is held at around -5C but warm jackets, ski pants and all equipment is included in the fees.
It's a novel way to experience "snow" if you live somewhere where it isn't cold enough to snow otherwise I would probably give give it a miss.
Address: 21 Jurong Town Hall Road, Snow City Building
Directions: Take the MRT to Jurong East & SBS 335 or 66 to Singapore Science Centre. Snow City building is next to the Omni Theatre Building within the Singapore Science Centre area.

Ride the wacky Duck!
Ride in a converted Vietnam War amphibious craft from Suntec City and drive into the water for a scenic harbour tour.
You get great views of the Merlion with the Fullerton Hotel in the background and of the very impressive city skyline.
For a small extra fee you could also have your photo taken on postage stamps to stick on your postcard cards to send to family and friends.
Imagine their surprise when they see your mug stamped and dated in exotic Singapore.
I have added additional photos on a separate Singapore Travelogue.
Address: 7 Temasek Boulevard, #04-01A Suntec City Tower
Directions: You can make advance booking and reservations at the DUCKcounter@Suntec City Mall.
Phone: 65-6-333-DUCK (3825)
Little India Arcade
In Little India you will find lots of little shops selling flowers, spices, textile, trinkets and heaps of Bollywood DVD's.
There are many Indian restaurants including Komala Vilas which comes with a reputation as one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Singapore. Komala Vilas also sell a large variety of snacks and sweets which satisfied this sweet tooth!
But try to avoid coming here on weekends in Little India as it can be very crowded.
Address: Serangoon road
Directions: Near central Singapore. Bus: 64, 65, 111, 97 or 85 from Orchard Road. There is also Little India MRT station.
Singapore Flyer
The Singapore Flyer is one of the newest attractions in town and from the top you can see as far as Indonesia and Malaysia.
At 165m high, the Singapore Flyer is (or maybe was) the world's largest observation wheel.
There are 28 capsules about the size of a small bus and each of them can take a maximum of 28 people.
We went in the morning of a weekday and were lucky enough to have the whole capsule to ourselves.
You can see the progress of construction of the new Integrated Resort , the CBD, Marina Bay area and the Benjamin Sheares Bridge.
The 30 min ride normally costs S$29.50 but I was able to get a 15% corporate discount through the very helpful imstress.
There's also a wide range of shops, restaurants, facilities and other activities nearby.

Bengal White Tiger
Singapore Zoo is one of the best open concept to be found anywhere and the world's first night safari is right next door.
It does make for a long day to do both of these attractions but it's well worth the effort.
Tip: It's more economical to buy yourself a 3 park pass which will get you to the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari and Jurong Bird Park.
I have added additional photos on a separate Singapore Travelogue.
Address: 80 Mandai Lake Road, Singapore 729826
Directions: Take the MRT to Ang Mo Kio station; alight and take bus SBS 138 to Singapore Zoo.

Merlion Park
Not including the ones that you find in souvenier shops, there are five official Merlion statues to be found in Singapore.
Two of them are located at Merlion Park which is very near to the promenade of the One Fullerton Hotel.
A third Merlion is 37m high and overlooks Singapore from Sentosa island.
The fourth Merlion is located at the headquarters of the Singapore Tourism Board at 1 Orchard Spring Lane.
The fifth Merlion is located at Mount Faber.
Night flight over Singapore
A flight on the DHL Balloon takes you up to a dizzying height of 180m which is some 48 storeys high. It is tethered to the ground so there is no danger of floating away in the breeze!
From the top you can see all over Singapore and all the way to Malaysia and Indonesia. We took a night flight to take in the bright city lights.
As the site on which it is located will accommodate a new MRT station, this attraction was due to close on the 30th September 2008.
But because it is so popular with locals and visitors alike, there is talk of relocating it to another site in Singapore.

Each ride takes about seven minutes.

Looking towards Sentosa
Of all the times that I have been to Singapore this is my first ride on the cable car here.
I was going to take the cable car to Sentosa Island on my last trip in 2005 but it was closed due to maintenance.
This time around I finally got another chance so I took the opportunity to go over to Sentosa by cable car.
Plus the kids wanted to try a couple of new rides that weren't there 3 years ago.
We took a glass bottom cable car in the hope of getting a better view but it was hardly worth it because the glass panels were tiny.
We jumped on at Mt Faber on the way over and jumped off at Harbour Front on the way back because we were going to meet imstress at VivoCity for lunch.
