Travelling broadens the mind (my Grandfather)
Hi
I'm Rubycon. Why on earth chose "Rubycon" as a name? Because travelling to me means crossing the Rubycon.
One of the Rubycon's to cross was to sign on to VT and maybe share some of my travel experiences with fellow travellers. So here I am and trying to set up my pages (which proves to be more work than I had anticipated). Not exactly a computer wizard, I sometimes find myself battling with soft- and hardware, so you all will just have to be patient as I slowly hope to get along and build up these pages. Thank you for your comprehension!
Now to my person:
I am a mix of Luxembourg and British descent and so love both of my countries.
I live and work in Luxembourg when I'm not hitting the road.
My hobbies are: History architecture, nature, photography and of course travelling abroad (easy if you live in Luxembourg!)
I am fluent in English, French, German and of course my native Luxembourgish (yes I do consider it a language) with slight notions of Italian and recently learning Vietnamese.
Travelling to me is not only going places but also bringing people to my country so: if any questions, feel free to ask.
Major obstacles to my travelling frequency are (as probably for the most of us) vacation time and $$$. But I do hope to overcome these in a couple of years.
I will also have a slight problem setting up some of my travelling pages in pictures as for a certain time I used to take slides. Meanwhile I have found out how to convert them into computer pics but now a very recent family member is taking up a considerable amount of my time. And although my son is only a few months old, I have already infected him with the famous travel bug.
Speaking of pics, I would just like to introduce you to my 2 most loyal and discreet travel companions who have accompanied me over five continents during the past 25 years. Never did I hear a complaint from them and never did they let me down. Their names are:
Nikon FE 2 and
Voigtländer Bessamatic
May I still enjoy their company for a long time to come.
However, due to the birth of my son, I have, what the rest of mankind would probably consider a small step, made a giant leap into the 21st century and treated myself to a new digital camera. So my camera family has also grown with a
Nikon D 80 with a 18-135mm lens
I must acknowledge the fact that some of these modern features on this camera are rather practical.
So stop talking Rubycon and get to work in setting up those pages.
Sorry folks, I've got to be going. Thanks for having a glimpse at my homepage
