I feel the tip about driving only 3 hours in a day may not apply as much to Americans, who are accustomed to driving long distances. Driving 8-10 hours per day when on vacation is typical for me (I have even driven with my husband 17 hours straight).

About baguette and bread importance for French: a copain is a synonym for friend, meaning someone you are sharing your bread with, without any doubt or commercial deal. :)
