Holidays and much more

by Kajser-MK - last update: Jul 27, 2007

Playa Americas, Loro Parque,Teide,Santa Cruz..

We went on a delayed wedding trip here, it was my wife's choise for 2007 holiday, and I must admit that she picked up the destination pretty well.
This place is wonderful for a holidays.
One can find dozens of things to do here.....
Not just a closed circle hotel-beach(pool)-bar-hotel and again the same route.
The island has so much to offer, it is a pitty if someone has come downhere and not see other things than Los Cristianos beaches.

The funny thing that when you first touch the ground here (we arrived at Tenerife Sur Airport) it looks a bit dissapointing.
But as the road continues you see from the left and right side of the road that this island is quite a piece to be seen. Amazingly , the island is full of banana fields and 95% of the bananas are for the Spain market.
They really taste diferent ,but we loved it.

The island itself is the largest by far in the Canary archipelago .
In the language of the ancient Guanche natives , its name means "White mountain" obviously refering to the Teide mountains which have pieces covered with snow during whole year.

The climate is fantastic for my point of view. During the two weeks we have spent there there was no rain, always sunny along with a not strong wind and temperature never exceeded 28 degrees.
Mango - my wife's favourite choise for clothing

Shopping

Tenerife for most of the year, offers real bargains in the shops. No matter what kind the shop is, you will find 30-50-70% sale in the shops.
At least it was like that in july!
