A Man-Made Country

by Arjaree - last update: Nov 4, 2004

Bird's eye view
Singapore seems to be wholly a result of a man's hand. The land is covered by business and apartment buildings. Trees and parks are placed here and there to keep the balance of the city. Most parts of Singapore look the same in style and size. For how new and organized the town looks makes it seem unauthentic, for it has lost the charm of Asian characteristics. Only left to be a business town where the standard of living is high and security has lied. Subways are built like spiderwebs cover all areas supporting all walks of life. The clear blue sky, little polluted atmostphere and well-manner drivers help make Singapore a city of stress-free.
Night scene
Weekdays in Singapore seem dull. Streets seem not yet awaken. Though colorful neons are lighted up setting a glamorous scene to the city, evenings and nights can still be lifeless. Only to wait when weekends arrive, the town turns its face to the opposite side. Shopping malls become crowded and the clubs turn alive. Youngsters carry their beach gear to Sentosa. More tourists stop by. Western tourists tasting Chinese dishes in Chinatown, Indian tours lined up to see the dolphin show, Thai is heard all along the road of Orchard, and Malays are all around. Hundreds of Singapore Sling are made during each weekend.

Pros:"Safe, clean, best transportation"
Cons:"Can be quiet and boring on the weekdays"
In A Nutshell:"3 days 2 nights are enough."
