You should not take a taxi parking in front of hotels or night spots like Nana and Patpong. Some of them will call you or wave at you or even approach you to use their service. They tend to double or tripple the price. You should try to tell them to use the meter and if they refuse, then just catch a new one. There are plenty of taxis out there all day and night.

Yep, make sure a woman you're flirting with is a woman! Katoey is a thai word for a transexual or a man who dresses exactly like a woman, with makeup, long hair, high heels...everything. Somebody can tell the difference. But Im sure there are quite a few who cannot. Those newcomers in Thailand cannot really tell. Anyway, let me give you something to notice. - Adam's apple - Broad shoulders - No ass - Taller than average girls - Voice - Too feminine...the way (s)he walks and dresses. - Too much makeup PS Im not against katoey's or gays. I actually have a few friends like that. PPS Be careful.

It's about water and ice. If you're not sure about your stomach condition and you are new to SEA, you'll probably stick to a bottled water. Some people told me they got diarrhea from drinking water with ice at some shops on the street. It's never been a problem for me.
