I Heart Bangkok...

by Arjaree - last update: Nov 6, 2004

Krungthep, Maha Nakorn, Amorn Ratanakosindra, Mahindra Ayudhya, Mahadilokpop Noparatana Rajdhani, Burirom, Udom Ratchanivej Mahastan, Amorn Pimarn Avatarn Satit, Sakkatultiya Vishnukarm Prasit - Krung Thep for short, and more commonly known as Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand.

Bangkok, to me, is hard to be summed up in words. I feel Bangkok is an eclectic city where everything is combined. It is a city full of life. It is a city of culture, of fun, of all entertainment, of hustle and bustle, of polluted air, of food, and the list goes on. The best experience in your life can be found here as well as the worst.

This is a City of Angels to men. It is a city which never sleeps. A heaven for party-goers. Doesnt matter which day it is, there are parties going on. Doesnt matter the clubs are closed early, if you have the right additional info, your time of fun won't stop till dawn. A heaven of all the shoppers. And with its ability, this city will bring out the hidden desire of those non-shoppers and turn them into a shopaholic. This is a city where people have well embraced all the modern trends and still be able to maintain the long traditions. It is a place where staggering architecture of temples are found all over, along with dull concrete buildings. It is a city where visitors fall in love with Thai food and are captured by Thai smiles, at the same time, are fed up with all the traffic, pollution and scams.

This is the home where I heart for when I am away. For it can offer such fun I havent found elsewhere and for the richness of food. And it is the place I sometimes want to get away from for its hectic pace of life.

This is Bangkok, a city full of imperfection, yet many have fallen in love with it.

Good suggestion. But, for tourists stupid enough to hang out in Nana and Patpong, they deserve to pay way more for a taxi.

Maybe at the end of the day, Budhism is not a religion but a philosophical path... In that case, no problems visiting religious places, including monotheistic stuff. GReat page here!
