Restaurant Name: TRATTORIA SAN TOMA

I wish to pass on to others my recommendation. We were on our way to a concert at a nearby church and stopped here for our supper. Our waiter could not have been more pleasant. Unfortunately, I cannot recall his name. I must return and find out! Although the menu was plentiful, my chum and I just had pizza followed by a gorgeous lemon tarte, followed by an amaretto!! I will certainly return on my next visit to Venice.

Restaurant Name: Taverna San Trovaso

I had read numerous reports on this restaurant. We arrived there around lunchtime on the Sunday to book for the evening. It was "buzzing". We returned at 7.00pm to eat and were not disappointed. The menu is extensive. The service was excellent and the food very good indeed. I would have no hesitation in returning.

Favorite Dish: We ate there only once - on our last night. I would definitely return.

Restaurant Name: PONTE DE DIAVOLA

This is a very pleasant restaurant on Torcello. One of 3 I believe. It is quite rustic, clean and not too formal. The other 2 restaurants, the Cipriani and another reasonably new restaurant are located nearer the cathedral and which I have not eaten at. For the past 4 visits, I have gone to this same restaurant ... it is "reliable".

Favorite Dish: I wholeheartedly recommend the Risotto Torcellano which is served for minimum 2 persons at a cost of approx 10 euros each. It is to die for - a vegetable risotto.

Restaurant Name: La Calcina

If your desire is good food in a beautiful location with wonderful service then you will not be disappointed if choosing to dine here. I recently spent my 50th birthday lunch here with 6 of my dear friends. The food was exquisite. If resident at the hotel - then a 3 course dinner is 22 euros including a glass of wine. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant in the Dorsoduro area of Venezia.

Favorite Dish: On my last visit, I ate at La Calcina on two evenings and was not disappointed. The food was divine. The dessert was to die for! Pears, with rocket, parmigiano and a balsamic dressing. As I write, I want to fly out and eat there tonight!
