This is where we laid our heads to rest after a whirlwind day of sightseeing. The hotel is nice and comfortable, although we didn't spend a lot of time there! The Strat is north of all the other casinos on the Strip, and it's a long walk just to the Sahara, the closest casino. It's best for people with cars, or who don't mind mass transit or shuttles. What You Get Bottles of in the Bathroom: You get shampoo and conditioner in tower-shaped bottles. Really, did you go to Vegas to sit in the room or did you go to explore this wildly entertaining city? Right. I did like our hotel. Not as crowded or loud as some of the others in the middle of the strip...nice and comfy.
Unique Qualities: Top of the World: This is one of the most expensive restaurants in Las Vegas. It is at the top of the Stratosphere Tower, so the views are spectacular. Everything comes a la carte, meaning if you order a steak, you pay an extra $5 for the potato, and then more for the vegetables and dessert. It can be very romantic, and if you really want to impress someone, book a reservation for sunset and watch the valley twinkle in the twilight. If you want a good deal, though, check out the lunch menu here, which starts just over $10 and includes a free ride up the tower. The view's nicer at night, because during the day you see all the smog hanging over the valley, but we can't afford to be picky. At 1,149 feet, the Stratosphere Tower is the tallest freestanding observation tower in the United States and the tallest building west of the Mississippi River. From the observation decks, lounge, restaurant, meeting & banquet space and private dining rooms, guests enjoy panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip and the surrounding valley. The High Roller roller coaster is the world's highest roller coaster! At 909 feet above the ground, the High Roller rockets around the tower pod on 840 feet of track banking sharply at 32-degree angles, traveling approximately 32 miles per hour. The Big Shot thrill ride catapults 16 riders from the 921-foot high platform up the Tower's mast to a height of 1,081 feet. Traveling at 45 miles per hour, riders experience 4G's as they reach the very top, and feel negative G's on the way down. There's also the Tower Shops for those who want to shop rather than scream.

Although we didn't stay at this hotel, we explored it...I very much wanted to stay here, but life goes on! Despite the super fancy dining and shopping, this place really doesn't resemble the city of Paris much. It's hard to take a quiet, romantic stroll through a casino or shopping mall. Check for specials, because sometimes room rates for this place drop really low. Eiffel Tower Restaurant: Very good French food eleven stories above the Strip and just about the most expensive joint in town. This is the fanciest and most "romantic" restaurant at Paris, and you have to dress accordingly. They serve traditional French cuisine. Make reservations in advance and try to be there for sunset. Shopping Mall: They have a cobblestone shopping mall between Bally's and Paris. There are mimes and bread boys wandering about, as well as too few benches and swarms of pushy people.
Unique Qualities: Eiffel Tower Let's see, it's half the height and more expensive than the Stratosphere Tower, plus the viewing deck is covered with mesh and very small. But if you cannot make it to Paris, this is second best. Located above the casino, this is a 50-story, half replica of the Eiffel Tower, originally built to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. Visit the French restaurant on the 11th floor for a breathtaking view of the Strip. Or take the elevator all the way to the top-floor observation deck. The Arc de Triomphe A two-thirds replica of the original Arc de Triomphe is located right outside the hotel's front entrance. The names and dates of Napoleon's victories are inscribed on the monument. The Louvre The original opened in 1793 and is now the richest museum in the world, housing the "Mona Lisa" and "Venus de Milo." The replica of the Louvre facade is located on the north corner of the casino front. The Paris Opera House The original Paris Opera House had a stage large enough to hold a cast of 450 performing artists. Visit the replica of the Paris Opera House facade at the south corner of the casino. The Hotel de Ville Now the Paris City Hall, the original Hotel de Ville is 800 years old. The replica of this historic landmark is located behind the casino.

Okay, so we didn't stay here either, but I did some research on this hotel. We did explore the hotel and I can't wait to go back! You want the best room in Vegas? Look no further. Unfortunately, you'll have to pay for it...tres expensif! What You Get Bottles of in the Bathroom: Oh, man, if you use it all you'll be attacked by bees thinking you're a big flower. Shampoo, conditioner, lotions, sewing kits and everything the best places have. Our advice is to bring a big toilet kit or purse to haul all this booty home. Five acres of pool deck with five pools. While it's mostly plain old concrete, it's still plenty of swimming fun.
Unique Qualities: Canal Shops This mall is as fancy as the Forum Shops at Caesars. There are dozens of high class shops for you to browse. It's all indoors and there's a canal where you may take a gondola ride for a small bundle. It's spectacular enough to be worth seeing once. Guggenheim A real, legitimate art museum. This is a Hermitage outlet of the Guggenheim, which means it shows things from the permanent collection of Guggenheim or Hermitage focusing on themes, such as pop art or impressionists. Not exactly why you went to Vegas, but trust me, it's cheaper than spending time at the craps table. Madame Tussaud's Las Vegas Want to spend $14 looking at big, human-shaped candles? If mannequins in the shapes of stars are not your thing, walk on by. A few of the celebs featured include: Evander Holyfield, "The Rock", Muhammad Ali, Brad Pitt, Eddie Murphy, Harrison Ford, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Idol, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Jon Bon Jovi, Marilyn Monroe, Madonna, Mick Jagger, Oprah, Jerry Springer and George Dubya.
