A Journalist's dream come true

I traveled to Washington DC for an ACP/CMA journalism convention. We arrived in DC shortly after the election and the whole Gore/Bush "controversy" thing. This was what we journalists (or journalists-to-be) live for!

So much to see

From its celebrated symbols of patriotism to its undiscovered neighborhoods, the sights and sounds of the nation's capital inspire millions of visitors every year. Packed with famous sights, free attractions, and an endless calendar of special events, Washington, DC offers year-round inspiring experiences.

In Memory of...

Any visit to Washington DC is sure to include a visit to the great memorials and monuments on the National Mall.
The U.S Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial are at either end of the Mall, in between them are the some of the war memorials, the great memorials to Washington and Jefferson, and the Smithsonian Institution. They are impressive buildings laid out in a way that deliberately evokes a sense of pride and patriotism. The National Mall follows the original design of L'Enfant that called for a Grand Avenue surrounded by public buildings. Most are made of marble so make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes when you visit.
