the olive oil soap

Just a while ago,on the way back from a weekend in the country, we stopped in a rest area to feed our baby and grab a bite ourselves.While waiting in the check out que, i noticed, among dozens of tiny statues,mini parthenons and other "don't know what" tourist souvenirs, packed by the desk, a "hand made olive oil soap". I took it in my hands.My baby, (we're still in a name...quest) which i carried in a sling, instantly tried to reach for it and put it in her mouth.I wanted a taste too.I smelled it.
I smelled summers in the country ages ago, i felt the dust on my knees, the heys in my hair, the dirt in my hands.I saw my grandmas laundry hanging between the cherry and the apple tree in our orchard.The olive oil soap...I almost heard her calling me and my sisters for the daily "ordeal" of taking a bath, and i heard us not responding, not wanting to leave our wonderful adventures in the fields by the forest, for a lunch and a midday sleep.Then, there was her tight hug round my body "gotcha, you're the eldest, you should set an example", the water running in the tiny bath tub , the scratches of the day, covered with foam , tingling, soap in my eyes and me murmuring, while looking outside the window through the rose tree, "it isn't fair"...
It isn't fair indeed...At about three o'clock,every day,after having taken my bath, without any complaints and had my own cooked lunch i'm heading to work.I sometimes use my olive oil soap.My grandma is now gone but i bet she would have laughed with it.But i don't.My face is still wet when i get out of the bathroom, and it's not the soap in my eyes...
