| | Help! Does it happen to you too? At a point in life, it just happens, that you totally run out of time, especially time to devote to the Internet world. No much time to upload pictures, no much time to do new interesting tips on VirtualTourist, no much time to cheer up your internet friends... no much time at all, the "real" life is sucking up all the time. Any way out? Suggestion for a less busy life appreciated :) |
The Paradox There are many things you might like in life: art, music, technology and so on. But just one thing is really unique and special: travelling. Because, there are so many places around, so many things, people, cultures, differences. And no matter how often you travel, there's always something that can surprise you, always something that you'll find was unique and worth. The only bad thing is just what makes travel exceptional: its richness. There are so many things, so many people, that you just can't see everything or meet everyone, there will be always something or someone you will miss. A big paradox, the same characteristic of travels make it scaring and charming a the same time. The solution? Just don't think too much about it and enjoy it: fly high! :) For instance, have a look at the Amsterdam, and the Boston travelogues,
| | The compression I live in a compressed place. Venice, the island of the thousand beauties, a fragment of past thrown into the future. Sometimes lonely, sometimes overcrowded. Mestre, the ground part of Venice, the classic modern city you are used to, lot of people and shops. The sea, close by in every direction, kissing Venice with a lagoon. The countryside, opposite to Venice, with its small cities and restaurants. The Dolomiti mountains, pure beauty poiting to heaven, just a quick drive away. To some extent, this is the prototype of Italy: diversity all around. Compression, to the limit. I like to travel, but when you necessarily have to stay, this is a good place to rest, awaiting for the next jump into the planet. Sometimes, it's just good to be home. |
The Ball of Life Italian culture highlight: the last soccer World Cup was a mediatic event in Italy. Why? Well, it's the same old story: you know, male Italians have that special gene in their DNA, everytime something close to a spherical object gets near to them, they have the creeps.... they shudder... and they feel the uncontrolled urge to go and kick it! This is why the last won in the 2006 World Soccer competition was something unique, more than a national party, with even trains horning all night long... Soccer, the only thing that can change one nation's mood, especially Italy's. From an external perspective, it's surely amazing how some people running and kicking on a ball are now the modern deities. Internally, well, I think it's just the need of the people to dream and to fly high, it's the wannabe-hero inside that looks to come out.
Happy kick, to whatever ball your life is!
