A land with its own language & amharic script; where the world's longest archeological records are found and indeed the first Earthlings -'Lucy'- Ethiopia marches to its own time and Calendar. Really! Never colonised and independently proud of its royal legacy...Ethiopia is indeed Africa's cradle... Most of the 1.1million sq km is pleasantly elevated and I needed a sweater most evenings in May...still summer north of the equator. Famine, war & desert i saw none of & safety was never an issue. Smiling faces; green land and peaceful susbsistence endured throughout my journey... Travel with me thru my pages as i showcase ETHIOPIA greek for 'Land of the Burnt Faces' |

Nevertheless a smile is never far away, making you forget any pending armageddon. Stop and say hello... everyone is as curious about you as you are of them..dont forget to Smile |

From the rock hewn churches of Lalibela to the modern edifices around the country religion is paramount-roughly 45% Christian; 35% Islam & the rest Tribal Delve into the orthodoxy of culture and tradition that is intertwined in this not so secular state. |
