Chugchilán Travel Guide: 18 reviews and 201 photos
Chugchilan is a quaint village in the Quilota loop south of Quita and Latacunga. Contains 3 hostels and excellent access to day hikes like the Laguna Quilota. A friendly town with stables and guides for horse riding to the local sites as well as regular busses to the rest of the Quilota loop and a milk truck to Sigchos.
- Pros:Black Sheep Inn (best food in the area!!!)
- Cons:difficult to access. 4 to 5 hours from Latacunga and over 6 from Quito
- In a nutshell:A great base for the Quilota loop!

An excellent, comfortable place to stay just outside of the small town of Chugchilan. Unbeatable vegetarian breakfast... more travel advice

I hope to visit Chugchilán next year!
I was staying at Mama Hilda's, and the Black Sheep staff refused to give us a lift the last 1/2 mile back to the Black Sheep because we were staying with the competition. To hell with 'em, I say. :)
