Coolkeeragh CCPP

I work in the power generation industry. I work for a certain general electric company. So, it requires me to travel to different project sites wherever they may be.

In March of 2004, I was assigned to the Coolkeeragh Combined Cycle Power Project in Londonderry/Derry, Northern Ireland. I was here for six months minus the ten days or so I spent in Lisbon, Portugal (see my travel guide) for Euro 2004. Looking back, I liked it very much there. Unfortunately, my time spent there would have been so much more enjoyable if I had been able to move into an apt., but that's another story. I ended up living in hotels the entire time I was there.

I got to see a good bit of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Check out my travel guides and travelogues for more pictures and descriptions of where I went.

I am thinking about staying overnight in Derry later this year. Your tips and stories were both helpful and entertaining. Good job! Cheers from Exit 9 on the NJT, Bill

Nice tips and agree with you about the Argyle. The Phoenix was also very good. But that guy:girl ratio is peculiar to Derry not the whole country ... Though I wish it was ;-) I lived in Derry for a year and the best desc. of it is "The Wild West"
