Restaurant Name: Restaurants in Paris.

I sometimes read on the other Paris pages that restaurants in Paris are expensive and waiters are not very nice. For the waiters it's sometimes true (especially in cafés, they're very famous for that even for frenchs ;-D ). But it's not a generality.
In touristic districts, you can find this kind of bad restaurants (expensive and people not nice at all).
But you can find thousands of good restaurants not very expensive with lot of different types of food and with very kind people.

Generally in Paris a good menu is around 20 euros.

All the restaurants that I mention in the different travelogues are places where I often go and you shouldn't have these kind of bad surprises.

If you want to eat very good food (and not expensive) from the west-south of France. Come early because it's always full.

Restaurant Name: Chez Gladines

This restaurant is an institution in the district "la butte aux cailles" !!
The atmospher is definitly unique and definitly french in this place.
This restaurant is not very big and the decoration very simple but all the rest is excellent .
They serve specialites from south west of france very good and not expensive at all like cassoulet, duck, etc...
It's always full, even when you come after midnight, so, you can't reserve.
If you want to try this restaurant ( and I strongly recommend it ), be patient, put your name on the waiting list, have a drink at the bar or just in front of the restaurant in the street with your friends and after few minutes, you should have a good french diner !!!

Favorite Dish: My favorite dish is "escalop de veau montagnarde", a dish excellent especially in winter.

Imagine, patatoes with an escalop on it, recovered of slides of country ham, and finally, a mix of melting cheese and a cream with mushrooms that recovers everythning !!!

Restaurant Name: Apollo ( 14 th dist , Denfert rochereau )

A new restaurant-bar, installed in the "Denfert Rochereau" RER train station. The entrance is outside on the left.
The decoration of the restaurant is nice !!!

Don't miss the terrasse !! Incredible for Paris !!

Restaurant Name: Restaurant of the big mosque of Paris

Come here to have a good mint tea in a beautiful garden. Can also eat a couscous in the restaurant very well decorated with arabic style.

Favorite Dish: couscous, tagine, mint tea.

A middle eastern retaurant, the food is good and the place well decorated (look at the pic).

Favorite Dish: I've eaten a couscous last time and it was good. ;-)

In this asian restaurant you have a buffet where you choose the food that you eat and after a cooker will cook it in a wok in front of you ( as you can see on the picture ).

Restaurant Name: Les Cailloux

Les cailloux is a restaurant in the center of the district La Butte aux Cailles. They cook french food. this restaurant is a little bit more "chic" than the other restaurants in this district but the food is honnest for the price and the decoration very nice too.

This french restaurant just in front of the famous "chez gladines" has a very nice decoration and several french specialities.

Restaurant Name: L'oisivethe ( brunch, butte aux cailles, 13rd dis)

Ok ok, it's not a restaurant but a place to drink a tea. But you could have a very nice brunch there!! I often go there sunday for a brunch, it costs 17 euros ( includes oe egg, coffee/tea, bred, butter, etc..). the room is very very beautiful, only 4 or 5 tables, with asian decorations, carpet on the ground, pieces of wood on the wall. It looks like a little saloon !!
