  • Favorite Thing: Lot of people, when they come in Paris, think that french people are cold. Perhaps, but I don't think so... We are not different at all. The problem is that lot of them don't go where real parisians live.If you really want to meet french people, be curious and don't stay in touristic districts!!! Before you come in France, you have to know that we never go around Eiffel tower or Montmarte, rarely on the Champs Elyssées or around the Louvre. It's always the same in all the cities.Paris is divided by the river 'la Seine', but it's not only a natural limit. The islands are the historical beginning of Paris. After, Paris has growned on the both sides. So, now south part has its heart: 'Saint-Michel'. And north has its heart: 'Les Halles'. Start you trip here, if you really want to understand the way of life in Paris.
BE CURIOUS, Paris is really mysterious, even for us!!! My life will be too short to know everything.

    Eiffel Tower: The Eiffel Tower

  • Favorite Thing: The Eiffel Tower

Fondest Memory: The Eiffel Tower is definitly our symbol. She belongs to everybody (yes, she's a girl and not only a piece of metal). That's funny because every parisians love the tower but very few of them have been on it.
Since 14th of july 2001 she doesn't flash anymore, you'll have to wait the beginning of 2003 to see it again. But don't worry, you can see the lights.
Click on the 'History' travelogue to see pictures and a history of this tower.
These informations come from the official website Eiffel Tower history, very interesting and in english.

If you have an address and you don't know in wich district it is, don't worry. Look at the zip code. They are like this in Paris: 75001,75002, etc...
75 is the number of Paris and 001, 002, 003, etc.. is the district number.
Paris is in the middle of a big metropol. Don't forget that the official Paris limit is the part inside the ring ('périphérique' in french)

I've been to Connolly's Corner, too! My name is Connolly & they gave me a free beer because of it (had to show them my passport to prove it - LOL). :>) The d'Orsay is THE best Impressionist museum in the world followed by the Art Institute in Chicago!
