"Chicago" Chicago by Ujamaflip

Since the beginning of 2008 my company has acquired another company located near to Chicago, which has now become our global headquarters. A lucky result of this is that I get to visit the Chicago area regulary. Although our facility is located somewhat outside of the city I usually try to spend a weekend in downtown Chicago, and most recently visited for 3 weeks together with my wife, victoria.

Chicago is a wonderful city, so much to see and do, always something happening, and what's more it's clean and safe.

The city is the 3rd largest city in the USA after New York and Los Angeles, hosting 2.8million residents. The city sits on the shore of Lake Michigan and around the Chicago river. Famously it is nicknamed "The Windy City" after blustery winds from the lake which are channeled through the streets by the sky-scrapers.

The summers in Chicago can be hot and hudmid, and the winters painfully cold and snows. The great lakes lead to interesting and surprising weather in the area.

Chicago has a real charm, I love to visit and I'm exceptionally grateful that my work provides me with the opportunity to explore the city.
