Ginestar "Quality rural Spanish retreat" | The castle in Miravet next to Ginestar |
I love Ginestar (and all the surrounding villages). I first visited this place with my wife last year (2006) because my parents live there. I now cant wait to go again in two weeks.
Ginestar is still fairly untouched and still very Spanish which is lovely. Dont get me wrong, the English have arrived in fair numbers but they havent made it "Little England".
Ginestar is very popular with the fishing fraternity who come from all over europe to fish for giant catfish (dont ask me which breed) in the Ebro river which is lovely.
Lastly, the town is overlooked by a massive castle which used to be occupied by the knights templar until they were overrun by the Muslims. |
