Uzbekistan is the first country in Central Asia that I've been to, and probably that's why I've been impressed more than ever before - until then I've never seen minarets, medrassahs and other stunning architecture of the east and never experienced all the oriental flavour of life here.
Before coming there, I was quite unsettled by enourmous warnings re: pickpockets, appropriate dress, attitude to women travellers, esp. independent travellers, etc, etc. Well, like any country Uzbekistan does have its peculiarities and in fact I must admit there were some things that kept me on my toes in this trip (the omnipresent and omnipotent police, for example) But if you don't do anything stupid or outrageous and just respect the people and show interest in the country and its way of life, the trip will be a most memorable experience.

Sure looks so very inviting!!! Wonderful picture ..... left me thinking of going there right now!!! How about some more pictures?!!!
