Svetlana's travel page - welcome everyone!

by svetik2000 - last update: Oct 22, 2005

Always short of time to keep up to date!

Adding tips and pics definitely takes more time than I thought - so if you see in my travel pages a location you're interested in, feel free to email me: i'll gladly answer all questions, rather than spend hours and hours uploading stuff (at least that's how i feel for now)

At last! Teh update!!!

Just a week ago I returned from my a month long trip to Spain and Morocco which was an unforgettable experience. The places I visited included Barcelona, Madrid, Toledo, Granada, Malaga, Tangiers, Marrakesh, Fes, Meknes, the Atlas mountains and Sahara! Not bad, eh? Naturally I'll try to reflect my impressions and share tips here, so I'll keep working on my pages and hopefully in the near future I'll have them ready so come back to see some new stuff!

Kind of update of my travel page:)

This July I went to the Crimea (Ukraine) for a two-week holiday at the Black sea which was simply fantastic - I haven't been so enthralled with nature and the idea of doing nothing but walking and taking all the atmosphere in for ages!
Isn't the teddy bear a cutie?

travel background

Still, some personal impressions of my travels up to date:

- Uzbekistan - an out-of-this-world place well worth a visit for its gorgeous architecture, weather and friendly people (check out my albums - you'll hopefully get the feel of this place after looking at the pics)

- Greece (beautiful, oh, simply unforgettable Crete! great food, see and music),

- Belguim (a nice and a bit rainy country, but never mind, Brussels is not all about walking),

-Germany (under the local influence I even got so very orderly, very well-organized and efficient -turned into quite an appealing self, really),

-Finland (great nature, lots of snow - which is nothing new to me, as we have lots of it in Moscow:)) ),

-and the greatest experience of my life so far - UK (everything from St.David's in Wales to Loch Ness, Scotland, including unforgettable Notting Hill Carnival in London, and three (!) days in British Museum)
As I'm just making the first steps, I'll create proper photo albums later, so until now - just this nice pic with an ultimate British teddy bear:)
Prague - history hand in hand with modernism

A special mention

In my final year at university two years ago I went to study at Charles University, Prague, which was an experience so unique it deserves a separate 'chapter' (and an album, to be added later, naturally). Just watching the change of seasons and the looks of this magnificent, most romantic, beautiful and splendid and (all the synonims go here) city was wonderful. That is definitely a city with its soul and atmosphere...In the months of my stay in Czech Republic I explored almost everything there was to explore in Prague itself and in the country as well, and being a bit of a 'culture vulture' I learnt so much that now can work as a proper guide (same goes for all the other countries I've visited - I haven't time to create separate pages for all of them so if you have a question, just drop a line, I'll try to help with info)
Just thought it'd be nice to let you all VTers know that it's winter in Moscow, and this pic's just hilarious - my friend trying to get a 'live' scarf - well, in freezing cold every little bit helps :)))

Update: OK, the winter's long gone, but I think l'll keep this pic here anyway for the simple reason that I lurrve it :P
