We traveled here from Geneva with a quick stop in Bern. As you travel into the area via train, the mountains around Thunersee are amazing. They rise up around the lakes.
This town of 11,000 is set between two lakes and below the Jungfrau. I found the residents very friendly.
Your trip will not be complete without a trip up the Jungfraujoch. It is worth the cost, if you get a clear day you can see forever (or at least Italy and Germany).

After several weeks in Interlaken I was lucky to get to know Renee, who actually took me on a personal tour of Thun. This family is one of the best I've ever met. The best place to find cool people in Interlaken.
