Of all the islands around Scotland, I opted for Orkney. It seemed to have more history and archeological features. Plus, I was in contact with some great folks who ran The Five Senses travel company thanks to the VirtualTourist website.
I have to say, I was not disappointed with my stay. In fact the only bad thing was the fact that I had to leave so soon! |

| | I loved the island. It had a remote feel to it. But it was also very welcoming. |

christine.j Sun Sep 21, 2008 17:08 UTC A great page! As you say, a magical place. | supercarys Sat May 3, 2008 08:11 UTC Oh, you've been to Orkney too! Isn't it just the best place! Did you get to the Tomb of the Eagles? That was one of my favourite places in the Orkneys. | SLLiew Wed Apr 23, 2008 15:56 UTC Amazing windswept landscape and stone formation. Wish I had asked for a postcard from there :) | Pawtuxet Mon Jul 9, 2007 01:59 UTC Sounds like a perfect way to tour. Conveniences at the hotel, prices reasonable, friendly faces, great scenery...all around good deal. Love the stone work! |
