Halifax is the largest city in Atlantic Canada. Located on the South coast of Nova Scotia, it can easily serve as a base to explore the rest of the province.
However, we decided on taking a more leisurely pace during our week in Halifax. That is not say we did not get out: we went on a kayaking trip in the Atlantic Ocean, visited the lighthouse at Peggy's Cove and spent a day exploring Dartmouth.
The city's laid-back atmosphere makes it a prime destination spot to kick back, but still enjoy the sights and sounds of a city. We were there in June, but I guess that if you visit during the school year, students from Halifax's five universities (!) guarantee an interesting night life. |
