"The hub of Iceland" Reykjavík Region by brazwhazz

Reykjavík Region Travel Guide: 1,524 reviews and 3,959 photos

Reykjavík is home to nearly two thirds of the population of Iceland. As a result, it is in sharp contrast to the rest of the country -- cars and stores abound, and you get the feeling locals eagerly await the next opportunity to flee and visit Iceland's unique countryside.

That is not to say Reykjavík is uninteresting. It has its share of museums and activities, not to mention unique Icelandic architecture.

Thanks for the helpful tips in Iceland - a place that I have always wanted to visit. It looks like you had a great time on this latest trip, despite a few local pitfalls to deal with!

Excellent tip on the saga manuscripts at The Culture House, I hadn't read about that before. Greetings from Seattle!
