"City of Mozart" a Salzburg Travel Page by brazwhazz

After having spent three days in Salzburg, we couldn't help but feel like the city is milking the Mozart cow (a very appropriate image for this city, as you'll see in my travel tips) for every drop it can give. Ironically, back in his day, the great composer had to leave Salzburg for Vienna because his talents were not appreciated in his hometown. Oh, how time and money make a difference!

Fortunately, there is more to see than Mozart: the well-preserved old town, the mountainside and the historical Hohensalzburg fortress are some of the highlights we took the time to see. Fans of the "Sound of Music" movie (I'm not one of them) will also be happy to see where many of the scenes were filmed, perhaps even as part of an organized tour!
