Gamlitz is a village in the south of Styria with about 3000 inhabitants. From Gamlitz it is only a stone`s throw to Maribor in Slovenia and it is about 60 km away from Graz. Gamlitz is famous for winegrowing and actually Styria`s biggest winegrowing community. The landscape is similar to the one in Tuscany and the hills are covered with grape-vines. The best season to go to Gamlitz and the surrounding villages (the area is called "Südsteirische Weinstraße) is in autumn. It is a nice place for people who want to relax, who love good vine and food and like to go for walks in a beautiful environment. |
