We loved walking through Chinatown - the colours and activity kept us entertained for hours. We stopped and did dim sum which was excellent. People stand on the corners and give out menu's - just pick and choose.

Okay I'm a small town northern girl raised on TV - I couldn't help it but the whole time we rode the cable cars I hummed (under my breath of course) "Rice-a-roni the San Francisco treat". The only thing missing was the the famous california sun - it was pouring and freezing - even for this northern girl.

Fresh, steamed Crabs, standing under a tarp to get out of the rain, warming up over the steam - okay it doesn't sound that cool but believe me it was. I've heard Fisherman's Wharf can be crowded and touristy but considering I was a tourist I thought I'd give it a go and considering it was pouring rain I figured it wouldn't be that busy and I was right. The walk from Chinatown was perfect.

ruffen Tue Apr 17, 2007 18:22 UTC Those houses have realy gotten some nice paintings! Too bad you had rainy weather there. | MatthewMetcalfe Wed May 4, 2005 14:15 UTC It's been years since I've been to San Francisco but I love it! You do have to enjoy the cold and rain though! Next time I'm going to hunt down those steamed crabs! | jessicadf Sun Mar 27, 2005 22:42 UTC Hahaha. What's so funny is that Rice-a-Roni hasn't been made in SF since before I was born! I think I've eaten it... um... once? :-p I'll all over the fresh crab though -- THAT'S the San Francisco treat! |
