Outside of the small town of Merzouga can be found the dunes of Chebbi Erg - one of the reasons so many people flock to this area. Scattered around the dunes can be found little desert resorts, reminded me of resorts scattered around the ocean. The dunes are breathtaking, changing colours every few mins as the sun makes it's way. |
|  | Emerging Dunes Before the sands the road gives way to a track across a barren, rocky terrian. Slowly in the distance the dunes emerge. Recommended is a guide and a four wheel drive. |
| | Movies Though many movies have been filmed in the area, no matter how many desert segments you've watched on TV, nothing will compare you for how stunning the dunes actually are. |

Hi because you had 4x4 the driver mustve taken you the back way from Erfoud to the desert otherwise its tarseal all the way from Erfoud thru Rissani toMerzouga and even past to Taouz where the road does end! glad u visited and had a good time! | CoAir13 Tue Feb 21, 2006 21:44 UTC
