My partner spent his teenage years in Zagrab attending an American school. Croatian father. This was my first trip to Croatia and as familiar as it felt to him, it felt exotic and mythical to me. Being a teenager during the 80's the concept of a communist/socialist state was like visiting a country we only heard snippts about, until MTV infiltrated.
Loved this very functioning city, practical, friendly and hopeful.
