Cape Tribulation... peace and serenity | Cape Tribulation and the beach |
This is a wonderful location to be amongst the Daintree National Rain Forest as well as being one of the closest points to the Great Barrier Reef.
It's a short boat trip to the reef from here. Many people go to the reef from Cairns, but Cairns is further away and unless you want to be with another 2,000 tourists swimming around, I suggest Cape Tribulation.
Oh, it also has some beautiful beaches. Cairns is limited unless you head northh to Port Douglas.
There are so many activities within striking distance. Swimming, Horse Riding, Hiking, and of course, a day trip to the reef.
I hav also added some beautiful photos of the reef in this section.
As for Accomodation, you can get a nice cabin which can be expensive or stay at the Cape Tribulation Hostel. It's very clean, has a bar area and is practically infront of the beach. It also offers private double rooms for that extra privacy at an economical price.
*** Check out some nice photos of the Great Barrier Reef in the TRAVELOGUE at the bottom of this page. *** |
| | Beautiful Beach The photo speaks for itself! |
| | Great Barrier Reef... Sea Turtle This was a big bonus! To see a Sea Turtle whilst snorkelling at the reef east of Cape Tribulation.
The hostel at the cape organises tours, which takes in the whole day. They also provide lunch.
If you ever visit, best to come between the months of May to October. In the summer months, there are bad stingers about and it can be an unpleasant experience... also, summer time is the rainy season. |
